The Nutrition Gap in High Performance
I wanted to share an episode that really struck a chord with me - a raw, unfiltered conversation about what’s really holding us back in our careers. I recently joined Wendy Komadina on The Chat podcast to dive deep into a subject that’s both personal and all too common: when relentless drive turns into self-sabotage.
For years, I believed that working harder, showing up every day, and saying “yes” to every opportunity was the path to success. But while I was overdelivering on every front, I was also over-functioning and silently paying a price. The pressure, the politics, and the constant perfectionism culminated in a harsh reality: my focus was shot, my sleep was wrecked, my body was inflamed, and I found myself coping in ways that dug deeper holes. This wasn’t resilience - it was quiet, slow self-destruction for what I believed was “success”.
In our conversation, I opened up about the moments when I realised that something was seriously wrong, and how those experiences reshaped my approach to leadership, wellness, and self-care. More importantly, I shared how I turned this burnout into a mission: to help high performers reclaim their energy, body, and confidence.
If you’ve ever felt stuck - doing everything “right” but still not moving forward - this episode is for you. I truly believe that recognising and addressing self-sabotage is the first step toward reclaiming your power and creating sustainable success.
I invite you to listen to the full conversation on The Chat podcast: Self Sabotage: Is It you, or Is It The System?
Thank you, Wendy, for creating a space for these real, raw discussions that professionals need. And thank you for taking the time to join me on this journey toward more resilient, fulfilled leadership.
